Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus launched with Kirin 659, 4GB RAM and 12MP+8MP dual rear cameras

Huawei has launched two new smartphones in an official event today called the Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus which are the successors to the Huawei Nova and Huawei Nova Plus launched last year. The main highlights of both these phones are the cameras as it comes with a powerful dual rear camera along with a powerful front selfie camera. Both these phones come with a 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual rear camera along with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera making it a strong camera phone.

Nova 2 specs

The Huawei Nova 2 is priced at 2499 yuan (around $364) while the Nova 2 Plus is priced at 2899 yuan (around $423). Both of these phones will be available for pre-order starting today in China via Vmall while the official sales of both phones will start from June 16th. Both the phones come with Aurora Blue, Grass Green, Gold, Obsidian Black and Rose Gold colour options.

The Huawei Nova 2 comes with a 5-inch Full HD LTPS 2.5D curved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 processor (4 xA53 at 2.36GHz + 4 x A53 at 1.7GHz) with Mali T830-MP2 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage capacity that is further expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS-based EMUI 5.1 on top and supports Hybrid Dual SIM.

It features a dual rear camera with a 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PFAF, 1.25μm pixel size, and f/1.8 aperture along with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed up by a 2950mAh battery and connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS / Glonass, USB Type-C and 3.5mm audio jack with audio enhancements features like AK4376A Hi-Fi audio chip and 3D surround sound features in addition. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel and it measures 142.2×68.9×6.9mm with 143 grams weight.

The bigger Huawei Nova 2 Plus features a 5.5-inch Full HD LTPS 2.5D curved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 processor (4 xA53 at 2.36GHz + 4 x A53 at 1.7GHz) with Mali T830-MP2 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage capacity that is further expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS-based EMUI 5.1 on top and supports Hybrid Dual SIM.
