Motorola launches Moto C in India with 5-inch display, 1 GB RAM and 2350mAh battery

After launching the Moto Z2 Play in the US yesterday, Motorola today launched its budgeted entry-level smartphone Moto C in Indian market where it will be available priced at Rs. 5,999 (around $93) with Pearl White and Starry Black color options. The Moto C was launched last month and was priced at 89 euros (around $98) and the bigger Moto C Plus was priced at 119 euros (around $131) for Italy. Motorola also confirmed that both the phones will debut in “spring” in European, Latin American and Asia Pacific countries and they launched the smaller Moto C in India while we still have to wait for the launch of the Moto C Plus.

Motorola Mobility India MD Sudhin Mathur said commenting on the launch of the device in India, “According to the reports fewer people are expected to upgrade to smartphones because of concerns over price, need and ability to use. We see this as a huge opportunity for a brand like us to initiate the smartphone journey for feature phone users.” This new budgeted Moto device also comes with 4G VoLTE support and comes with Dual-SIMs support as well making it tough for its competitors in the Indian market.

As we already know, the Moto C comes with a smaller 5-inch FWVGA display with 854 x 480 pixels resolution and it comes powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737m processor. With 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage capacity it can handle a number of low feature games and the device also comes with expandable storage via a microSD card up to 32GB. It runs on the Android 7.0 (Nougat) OS out of the box and also supports Dual SIM option.

It features a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, HDR, 720p recording @ 30fps and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash as well. It is backed up by a 2350mAh removable battery and supports 3.5mm audio jack, 4G VoLTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and , FM Radio support. It measures 145.5×73.6x9mm and weights 154 grams.

The bigger Moto C Plus was launched along with Moto C and it comes with a similiar 5-inch display but with HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6737 processor. It comes with 1GB/2GB of RAM option and comes with 16GB internal storage capacity that is also expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It also runs on the Android 7.0 (Nougat) OS out of the box and supports Dual SIMs.

It features a 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and f / 2.4 aperture. A 2-megapixel front-facing camera is also available with LED flash and f / 2.8 aperture. It is backed up by a massive 4000mAh battery and supports 3.5mm audio jack, 4G VoLTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and FM Radio support. It measures 144×72.3x10mm and weights 162 grams. The Moto C Plus is also expected to launch soon in Indian market and in other markets as well.
