YotaPhone 3 confirmed to launch this year with dual screen technology, Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM and a 3,200mAh battery

Yota has finally confirmed that the new Yotaphone 3 will be available for sale this fall. In the Harbin’s China-Russia Expo, the joint venture Baoli Yota founded by investor Baoli and manufacturer Coolpad has confirmed the launch date. The new YotaPhone 3 will be priced at $350 for the 64GB inbuilt storage option while the 128GB storage variant will be available priced at $450. But their is a twist, The Yotaphone won’t be powered by the Snapdragon 835 or 821 flagship processor but will be powered by the mid-range Snapdragon 625 processor instead. The phone will feature USB Type-C and a 3.5mm audio jack as well. Let’s checkout the other specifications of the device next.

The YotaPhone 3 will feature a dual display with a 5.5-inch AMOLED multi-touch main display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and a 5.2-inch EPD full touch rear screen with 1280 × 720 pixels resolution. It will be powered by the mediocre 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU and will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB internal storage variant with both supporting MicroSD card expandable storage. It will run on the Android Nougat OS out of the box will support hybrid Dual SIM slots.

It features a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and 4K video recording and will also have a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. The device will be backed up by a 3,200mAh battery and will have connectivity options including 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and USB Type-C. This will be the third Yota phone launched nearly after 3 years when the YotaPhone 2 was launched. The Snapdragon 625 for the Yota3 is a bit of surprise as the other two phones were launched with flagship chipsets.

To recall, the Yotaphone 2 was launched in 2014 with 5-inch AMOLED multi-touch main display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution along with a 4.7-inch EPD full touch rear screen having 960 × 540 pixels resolution. It was powered by the 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and was running the Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS. It featured an 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash, 1080p full HD video recording along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It was powered by a 2550 mAh battery with wireless charging and was having 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage capacity. Connectivity options includes 4 G LTE / 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n /ac, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS w/A-GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio support. It measured 144 x 69.5 x 8.9 mm and weighted 140 grams.
