Xiaomi Mi 5X launching on July 26 with MIUI 9 and Dual rear cameras

Xiaomi is all set to launch its new Xiaomi Mi 5X smartphone in China on July 26th and has started sending the official invites for their upcoming event via their weibo account. The newly released teaser from the company confirms the MIUI 9 OS and dual rear cameras for the device. The company has also confirmed that the Chinese actor Kris Wu will be the brand ambassador of the phone and will promote the device in the country. The device image in the teaser also confirms dual tone dual LED flash for the device and a fingerprint scanner is also available on the rear panel of the device. As per the rumors, the Xiaomi Mi 5X will have a price tag of 1999 yuan (around $295) and it will be available with Black, Gold colors and Rose Gold color options.

According to the rumors, the Xiaomi Mi 5X will feature a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and will be powered by the 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 14nm processor that also comes with Adreno 506 GPU. It will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage capacity and we can also expect a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage might be up to 128GB. It will run on the company’s MIUI 9 that will be based on the Nougat OS out of the box. It is expected to have dual-SIMs option and will be available in multiple regions apart from China. It will feature a dual rear camera having OV12A10 OmniVision sensor + OV13880 OmniVision sensor and will also have a front facing 5-megapixel camera with a S5K5E8 sensor. Other details about the device are still unknown and we will have more details on July 26th with its launch.

The company is also preparing for the launch of the new Redmi series device Redmi 5 that will have upgraded features and specifications from its predecessor. According to the leaked images, the Redmi 5 was confirmed to feature a 5-inch full-HD IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and will be powered by the 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 625 processor and 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 630 octa-core processors with Adreno 508 GPUs and different variants having different amount of RAM and storage. It will have 3GB / 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM options with 16GB / 32GB and 64GB inbuilt (eMMC 5.1) storage options with all supporting MicroSD card expandable storage option with up to 128 GB of storage. it will run on the MIUI 9.0 based on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box and will support dual-SIMs.

It will feature a 16-megapixel rear LED flash camera and also has a 5-megapixel front facing camera. It gets backed up by a 3680mAh battery which is reduced from 4100mAh one present in the Redmi 4. The battery of the phone this time comes with the support of Quick Charge 3 for faster charging of the device. The device will come with 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and other useful connectivity options as well. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner available on the rear panel below rear camera module.
