Nokia 8 expected to launch on August 16th, HMD Global sent out invites

Looks like the Finland based HMD Global has decided to launch the new flagship smartphone powered by Android rumored as Nokia 8 as the company has started sending out invites for its upcoming event that will be held on August 16th in London (via) and will start at 7:30PM local time. The company’s invites says “exclusive gathering to check out the next milestone for Nokia phones” which clearly hints towards the launch of a new Nokia smartphone which might be the Nokia 8 or the next Nokia flagship. The Nokia 8 was already seen leaked in HD renders leaked by Evan Blass and was also leaked via benchmarks that revealed the specifications of the smartphone.

The Nokia 8 will carry the model number TA-1004 and TA-1012 and the Nokia TA-1004 was already spotted at AnTuTu. According to the listing, the Nokia 8 will feature a QHD resolution display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and if we checkout the past rumors, it will have a 5.4-inch display. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU and will have 4GB of RAM with 64GB of inbuilt storage capacity. It will run on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box according to AnTuTu listing but some rumors have even claimed that it will run on the upcoming Android O OS out of the box. It is expected to have Dual-SIMs support. The AnTuTu listing further claims that the Nokia 9 smartphone will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera that will obviously have an LED flash and it will also have a 13-megapixel front facing camera.

Apart from 4GB RAM, the Nokia 8 might also be launched with 6GB RAM and with 8GB RAM with different variants having 64GB and 128GB of inbuilt storage options. The device was already spotted listed by Geekbench with 8GB of RAM, however, we are not confirmed if the company will launch these high-end variants of the device or not. According to the past rumors, the Nokia 8 or 9 will feature a 5.4-inch QHD resolution display and will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor with the Adreno 540 GPU. It will have 4GB or 8GB of RAM. It will carry 64GB of inbuilt storage capacity and will feature a dual 13-megapixel rear camera setup. It is expected to have an iris scanner and a fingerprint scanner will be available on the physical home button on front just like the other Nokia devices released already. It will be backed up by a 3800 mAh battery and will also have Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4. It will be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
