Samsung Galaxy C8 announced with dual rear cameras, 4GB RAM and a 3000mAh battery

Samsung has launched yet another smartphone in the Galaxy C series called Samsung Galaxy C8 which was expected to be launched as Galaxy C7 2017 according to the earlier rumors. The device is the global variant of the recently launched Samsung Galaxy J7+ launched in Thailand. The device is launched in China today where it will be available Black, Gold and Rose Gold color options, however, the availability and pricing details were not revealed yet by the company and is expected to reveal them soon. It comes with a metal unibody design and has a fingerprint scanner on the physical home button. The device was previously spotted listed by TENAA and FCC revealing the specifications and images of the device before its official unveiling.

The Galaxy C8 features a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a MediaTek Helio P20 Octa-Core (2.39GHz + 1.69GHz) 64-bit 16nm processor with ARM Mali T880 GPU. It comes with two variants with one having 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage capacity while the second one having 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that is further expandable up to 256GB with microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) OS out of the box and comes with Dual SIMs.

It features a dual rear camera with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture and along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera with f/1.9 aperture. The device also comes with a 16-megapixel front camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture. It is backed up by a 3000mAh battery and connectivity options includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4+5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. The device comes with fingerprint sensor on the physical home button on front. It measures 152.4 x 74.7 x 7.9mm and weights 178 grams.

The Galaxy J7+ was launched in Thailand few days back with a price tag of a 12900 Thai Baht (around $388) and is currently available for pre-order in Thailand till September 17th and the shipping of the device will start from September 22nd in the country. The company is also offering a free Samsung U Flex Headphones to the customers pre-ordering the device.

The company also launched the flagship Galaxy Note 8 with a dual rear camera as well and with an infinity display. It comes with a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with 2960 × 1440 pixels resolution, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU / octa-core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 8895 processor with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU, 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB/128GB/256GB inbuilt storage, expandable storage up to 256GB with microSD card, Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) OS, Hybrid Dual SIM support, a dual rear camera with a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, wide-angle lens, OIS along with a secondary 12-megapixel camera with telephoto lens, f2.4 aperture, OIS, 2x optical zoom and up to 10x digital zoom, an 8-megapixel auto focus front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture, a smaller 3300mAh battery, wired and wireless fast charging, IP68 certification, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth v 5.0 (LE up to 2Mbps) and other connectivity options and a fingerprint scanner near the dual camera setup. The device measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6mm and weights 195 grams.
