ZTE’s Nubia division has announced two new high-end smartphones called Nubia Z17S and Nubia Z17 MiniS in an official event. The Nubia Z17S comes with 8GB of RAM with latest Snapdragon 835 chip whereas the Nubia Z17 miniS comes with 6GB of RAM along with the mid-range Snapdragon 653 processor. The Nubia Z17S is priced at 2999 yuan (around $455) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage while the 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage variant is priced at 3999 yuan (around $607). It comes with Black and Blue color options. The Nubia Z17 miniS is priced at 1999 yuan (around $303) and it comes with Black Gold and Deep Blue color options. Another high-end Aegean blue color variant comes with 2099 yuan (around $318). Both are currently available for pre-orders in China whereas both of them will be available for sale starting October 19th.
The Nubia Z17S features a 5.73-inch Full HD+ LTPS display with 2040×1080 pixels resolution, 96% NTSC color gamut and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by a 2.45GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 64-bit 10nm processor with 710MHz Adreno 540 GPU. It comes with two variants one having 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM + 128GB (UFS 2.1) internal storage whereas the second one comes with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM + 64GB / 128GB (UFS 2.1) internal storage. It runs on the Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with Nubia UI 5.1 on top and supports Dual SIM.
It features a dual rear camera with a 12-megapixel camera having Sony IMX362 sensor, 1.4μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, 1/2.55″ CMOS sensor, dual-tone LED flash along with a secondary 23-megapixel camera with Sony IMX318 sensor and f/2.0 aperture. It also has a dual front facing camera with two 5-megapixel dual sensors with f/2.2 aperture and 79.9-degree wide-angle lens. It is backed up by a 3100mAh battery with fast charging that can charge the phone up to 50% in 25 minutes. A fingerprint sensor is available on the rear panel that can unlock the phone in 0.1 seconds. The device comes with connectivity options like 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, USB Type-C and other options like TAS2555 smart Amplifier and 7.1 channel DTS audio. It measures 147.46×72.68×8.5 mm and weights 170 grams.
The Nubia Z17 miniS features a 5.2-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 450 nits brightness, 85% NTSC color gamut and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor with Adreno 510 GPU. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage capacity. It runs on the Android 7.1 (Nougat) with Nubia UI 5.0 on top with Dual SIM support as well.
It features a dual rear camera with 13-megapixel monochrome + 13-megapixel RGB sensors with Sony IMX258 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, OIS, 4K video recording and has a dual front facing camera with a 16-megapixel camera having f/2.0 aperture, 80-degree wide-angle lens along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. It is backed up by a 3200mAh battery and comes with connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C along with a 3.5mm audio jack, AW87319 amplifier chip and DTS audio features. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. It measures 147.5 × 71.2 × 7.6mm and weights 155 grams.
