HTC U12+ announced with dual rear and front cameras, Snapdragon 845 and a 3500mAh battery

After so many leaks and rumors, HTC has finally announced their new flagship HTC U12+ which is the successor to last year’s HTC U11+. The new HTC U12+ comes with dual rear cameras as well as dual front cameras for selfie lovers. The new HTC U12+ is priced at $799 for the 64GB inbuilt storage variant and $849 for the 128GB inbuilt storage variant. The smartphone is currently up for pre-order in the U.S. and Europe and the shipping of the device starts later this month or early next month depending on the region. It comes with Translucent Blue, Ceramic Black and Flame Red colour options. We can also expect a global availability announcement from the smartphone company soon.

The new HTC U12+ features a 3D glass body with ultra-thin borders which according to HTC are 2mm narrower than the HTC U11’s borders. It comes with the Edge Sense 2 support to Squeeze the phone by which the users can access apps or control the phone. It features a 6-inch Quad HD+ Super LCD 6 display with HDR10, DCI-P3 and sRGB support, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 2880 x 1440 pixels resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU and comes with 6GB of RAM with 64GB / 128GB inbuilt storage (UFS 2.1) options. the device also supports expandable storage of up to 2TB with a microSD card slot.

It runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) with HTC Sense UI on top and supports Single / Hybrid Dual SIM. It features a dual rear camera with a 12-megapixel HTC UltraPixel 4 camera with 1.4μm pixel size, f/1.75 aperture, dual LED flash, PDAF, Laser autofocus, and OIS along with a secondary 16-megapixel telephoto lens with 1.0μm pixel size, f/2.6 aperture, 4k at 60 fps, 240fps slo-mo at 1080p. It has a dual front-facing camera with an 8-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual camera with 1.12μm pixel size, f/2.0 aperture Real-time bokeh effects, and AR stickers.

It has a 3500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging and supports dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C connectivity options. It comes with a water and dust-resistant feature with IP68 ratings and has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. It also comes with additional features like USB-C audio, HTC USonic with Active Noise Cancellation, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition and Hi-Res audio certification as well. It measures 156.6×73.9×8.7-9.7mm and weighs 188 grams.
