HTC U12 Life announced with dual rear cameras and Snapdragon 636 processor

Taiwan’s HTC has launched a new smartphone in the HTC U series with the name HTC U12 Life. It has an acrylic glass unibody with a metal-like design and has a fingerprint sensor on the back. The HTC U12 Life is priced at £300 (around $390) and will be available first in the UK and will also be available in Europe, Asia, and Middle East countries in late September as per the company. HTC has already launched the flagship HTC U12+ which is powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor and has a 3500mAh battery. The HTC U12 Life also has a dual rear camera and has a bigger 6-inch display. The HTC U12 Life features a 6-inch Full HD+ 18:9 IPS 2.5D curved glass display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 509 GPU. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of (UFS2.1) inbuilt storage capacity that is expandable with the help of a microSD card. It runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with HTC Sense and supports Dual SIMs as well.

It features a dual rear camera with a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, Dual LED flash along with a 5-megapixel secondary rear camera. It has a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. It comes with a 3600mAh battery and comes with dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm audio jack. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. It measures 158.5 x 75.4 x 8.3 mm and weighs 175 grams.

To recall, the HTC U12+ features a 6-inch Quad HD+ Super LCD 6 display with HDR10, DCI-P3 and sRGB support, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 2880 x 1440 pixels resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU and comes with 6GB of RAM with 64GB / 128GB inbuilt storage (UFS 2.1) options.

The device also supports expandable storage of up to 2TB with a microSD card slot. It runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) with HTC Sense UI on top and supports Single / Hybrid Dual SIM. It features a dual rear camera with a 12-megapixel HTC UltraPixel 4 camera with 1.4μm pixel size, f/1.75 aperture, dual LED flash, PDAF, Laser autofocus, OIS along with a secondary 16-megapixel telephoto lens with 1.0μm pixel size, f/2.6 aperture, 4k at 60 fps, 240fps slo-mo at 1080p.

It has a dual front-facing camera with an 8-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual camera with 1.12μm pixel size, f/2.0 aperture Real-time bokeh effects, and AR stickers. It has a 3500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging and supports dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C connectivity options. It comes with a water and dust-resistant feature with IP68 ratings and has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. It also comes with additional features like USB-C audio, HTC USonic with Active Noise Cancellation, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition and Hi-Res audio certification as well. It measures 156.6×73.9×8.7-9.7mm and weighs 188 grams.
