Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) announced with Quad-rear cameras, Snapdragon 710 and 8GB RAM

Samsung today announced the new Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) in an official event that comes with a quad rear camera and is the world’s first phone to feature a quad rear camera setup. It has a bigger battery and comes with a fingerprint scanner on the rear side.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is priced at 599 Euros (around $690) in Europe, 39990 rubles (around $599) in Russia and £549 (around $724) in the UK and will be available for sale starting from November 2018 in select markets. It comes with Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue and Bubblegum Pink colour options. It has a Snapdragon 710 processor with fast charging support.

Galaxy A9 (2018) Specs

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with 1080×2220 pixels resolution and is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 710 10nm Mobile Platform (Dual 2.2GHz Kryo 360 + Hexa 1.7GHz Kryo 360 CPUs) with Adreno 616 GPU. It comes with 6GB / 8GB of RAM with 128 GB inbuilt storage that is expandable up to 512GB with the help of a micro SD card. It runs on the Android 8.0 (Oreo) OS out of the box and supports Hybrid dual SIMs.

It features a quad rear camera setup with a 24-megapixel camera with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, a 10-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, an 8-megapixel 120° Ultra Wide camera with f/2.4 aperture and a 5-megapixel f/2.2 depth camera. It has a 24-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture as well. It has a 3800mAh battery with adaptive fast charging support and comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80, Bluetooth v5, GPS + GLONASS, NFC (Optional) connectivity options. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. It measures 162.5 x 77 x 7.8 mm and weighs 183 grams.

Samsung recently launched the new Galaxy A9 Star smartphone that features a 6.28-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with 1080×2220 pixels resolution and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 14nm Mobile Platform (Quad 2.2GHz Kryo 260 + Quad 1.8GHz Kryo 260 CPUs) that also comes with the Adreno 512 GPU. It has 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of internal storage that is further expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 8.0 (Oreo) OS out of the box and supports Dual SIMs as well.

It has a dual rear camera with a 24-megapixel camera having LED Flash along with a 16-megapixel secondary rear camera. It also comes with a 24-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a bigger 3700mAh battery with fast charging support and comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, and GPS with GLONASS connectivity options. It comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and also has Dolby Atmos support. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. it measures 162.4×77.0×7.55mm and weighs 188 grams.

The Galaxy A9 (2018) also received the TENAA approval in China confirming its imminent launch in the country. The TENAA listing shows that the China variant comes with model number SM-A9200 which has a slightly smaller 3720mAh battery instead of a 3800mAh battery. It has the same specifications as the global variant but the price might be a key point for the Chinese market. Samsung has started teasing the launch event of Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) for China scheduled for October 24 where the device will be launched as Galaxy A9s.
