OnePlus 6T launched with 8GB RAM, in-display fingerprint sensor and 3700mAh battery

OnePlus has just launched the new flagship OnePlus 6T at an event in New York which is the successor to the OnePlus 6 and is launched just 6 months after the launch of the OnePlus 6. As the rumours confirmed previously, the OnePlus 6T comes with a water-drop notch and has an in-display fingerprint scanner. Its display has an 86% screen-to-body ratio and is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

It doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack but it has a bundled USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter, USB Type-C earphones or Bluetooth headphones. It comes with a glass back with a Mirror Black colour option with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and the glass not only increases durability but also creates a 3D effect that accentuates the signature OnePlus horizon line.

Another Midnight Black colour variant with a glass back and matte finish has a jagged texture that was etched onto the film to produce a subtle S-shaped line when the phone is reflected in the light. The OnePlus 6T is priced at $549 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB inbuilt storage, $579 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant and the top-end 8GB RAM with 256GB inbuilt storage variant is priced at $629. It will be available in the US via the carrier T-Mobile from November 1st and in Europe from the 6th. The device will be launched for the Indian market today and will go on sale in India exclusively via Amazon India from November 1st.

The OnePlus 6T features a 6.41-inch Full HD+ 19.5:9 aspect ratio Optic AMOLED display with 100.63% sRGB colour gamut, DCI-P3 colour gamut, over 600 nits brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and 2340 × 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a 2.8GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU. It comes with 6GB LPDDR4X of RAM with 128GB (UFS 2.1) inbuilt storage and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB (UFS 2.1) storage. It runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with OxygenOS 5.1 out of the box and comes with Dual SIM support (nano + nano).

It has a dual rear camera with a 16-megapixel camera with dual LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.6″  Sony IMX519 sensor, 1.22μm pixel size, OIS, EIS along with a secondary 20-megapixel camera with Sony IMX376K sensor, f/1.7 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size, 480 fps slo-mo at 720p, 240 fps at 1080p, 4k at 60 fps. It also has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with a Sony IMX 371 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and 1.0μm pixel size.

It has a bigger 3700mAh battery with Dash Charge (5V – 4A) and comes with 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C connectivity options. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor that can unlock the phone in 0.34 seconds and comes with additional features like USB Type-C audio, a bottom-facing speaker and Dirac HD Sound. It measures 157.7×74.8×8.2mm and weighs 185 grams.

OnePlus 6T Event

OnePlus India announced previously that the new OnePlus 6T is going to launch on the launch event on October 30 at KDJW Stadium, inside Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi. The company has started sending the launch invites to Indian customers and is also going to sell entry tickets for the event from October 17 for Indian users. The device will also be announced in New York at 11 AM EDT at the same time it launches in India.

The entry tickets for the event will be available priced at INR 999 (around $14) via the OnePlus website from 10:00 AM IST on Wednesday, 17th October 2018. The event attendees will be the first in the world that experience the style and power of the OnePlus 6T at the experience zone available at the launch venue. The attendees will also be gifted with a gift hamper and OnePlus Bullets Type-C earphones.
