Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G announced with Snapdragon 855, Xiaomi Mi 9 goes global

Chinese Xiaomi has just announced the flagship Mi Mix series smartphone Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G at an official event. The device comes with 5G connectivity and has an AMOLED display with a Snapdragon 855 SoC powering the device. The device has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side and comes with dual rear cameras and has a bigger 3800mAH battery.

Mi MIX 3 Price

The Mi Mix 3 5G is priced at 599 Euros (around $679) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage variant and will be available for sale in May through the Mi website, Mi Stores and retail channels across Europe with Onyx Black and Sapphire Blue colour options. The device will be available with several carriers including 3, Orange, Sunrise, Telefonica, TIM and Vodafone. The company also announced the Xiaomi Mi 9 flagship for the European market in the event.

The Mi Mix 3 5G features a 6.39-inch Full HD+ 19:5:9 display with 103.8% NTSC Color Gamut, 60000:1 contrast ratio, 600 nits brightness and 2340 × 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 640 GPU. It comes with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB / 128GB (UFS 2.1) inbuilt storage. It runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 10 and supports Dual SIMs (nano + nano).

It carries a dual rear camera with a 12-megapixel camera with 26mm wide-angle lens, 1/2.6″ Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, dual LED flash, 4-axis OIS, Optical zoom, 4K video recording, 960 fps slo-mo recording along with a secondary 12-megapixel rear camera with Samsung S5K3M3+ sensor, 1.0 µm pixel size, f/2.4 aperture, 2X zoom. It also has a 24-megapixel front-facing camera with Super Pixel low-light tech, a Sony IMX576 sensor, a secondary 2MP DOF camera, an OV02A10 sensor, and a customized high CRI selfie light.

It has a 3800mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0+ fast charging, 10W Qi wireless charging and comes with connectivity options such as 5G Sub6, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (4×4 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, USB Type-C. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. It measures 157.89x 74.69x 8.46mm weight 218 grams.

Xiaomi Mi 9 specs

The Xiaomi MI 9 was announced around a week back in China and now it’s also announced for the European market and will be available in more markets soon. It features a 6.39-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 103.8% NTSC colour gamut, 600 nits brightness, 60000:1 contrast ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, and 1080 × 2280 pixels resolution.

It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform (1 x 2.84GHz Kryo 485 + 3 x 2.42GHz Kryo 485 + 4x 1.80GHz Kryo 485) with Adreno 640 GPU. It comes with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB / 128GB (UFS 2.1) inbuilt storage. It supports Dual SIMs and comes with Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 10 on top.

It carries a triple rear camera with a 48-megapixel camera with a 1/2.0″ Sony IMX586 sensor, 0.8μm. pixel size, f/1.75 aperture, LED flash, Laser Autofocus, PDAF, CAF, a 12-megapixel 1/3.6″ Samsung S5K3M5, telephoto lens with f/2.2 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size, 6P lens, 2x lossless zoom and a 16-megapixel 1/1.3″ Sony IMX481 117-degree ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 1.0μm pixel size, 6P lens, 4cm macro.

It has a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with 0.9μm pixel size, f/2.0 aperture. It comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and has a 3300mAh battery with 27W fast charging and 20W wireless fast charging. Connectivity options available are dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 5, Dual-frequency (L1+L5) GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, USB Type-C. It measures 157.5×74.67×7.61mm and weighs 173 grams.

The Xiaomi MI 9 is priced at 449 Euros (around $509) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version and 499 Euros (around $565) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage option. It is available for pre-order from today in Spain, Italy and France and will go on sale in several other countries across Europe starting from February 28th. It will be available in Ocean Blue, Lavender Violet and Piano Black colour options.
