ASUS announces ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro With Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865+ processors
Taiwan’s ASUS has finally launched the new flagship devices ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro in the Zenfone series. Both device comes with AMOLED displays with 90Hz refresh rate, 200Hz touch sampling rate, DC Dimming and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The devices run Snapdragon 865 for Zenfone 7 and Snapdragon 865+ for the Zenfone 7 Pro enabling 5G support for both of the devices. The main highlight of the device is its rotating camera module with triple flip cameras.
The ASUS ZenFone 7 is priced at NT$21,999 (around $749) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option and NT$23,999 (around $817) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The Zenfone 7 Pro, on the other hand, is priced at NT$27,990 (around $953) for the 8GB RAM + 512GB storage variant. The devices are available for sale in Taiwan with Pastel White and Aurora Black colours.
Both the devices come with similar specifications with some differences in processor and storage. The Zenfone 7 comes with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ 90Hz AMOLED HDR 20:9 aspect ratio display, 110% DCI-P3, 105% NTSC colour gamut, 700 nits brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and 2400 × 1080 pixels resolution.
The Zenfone 7 Pro is powered by the 3.1 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 865 Plus 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 650 GPU while the ZenFone 7 is powered by the 2.84GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 865 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 650 GPU. The ZenFone 7 Pro comes with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 512GB (UFS 3.1) internal storage option while the ZenFone 7 comes with 6GB/ 8GB LPDDR5 RAM variants with 128GB (UFS 3.1) inbuilt storage with expandable storage up to 2TB with microSD card.
The Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro run on the Android 10 OS with ZenUI 7 out of the box and comes with Dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD) support. The devices come with a rotating cam with a 64-megapixel camera featuring a Sony IMX686 sensor, 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, 4-axis OIS (for 7 Pro only), 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with Sony IMX363 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 4cm macro mode, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, up to 12x digital zoom, 4-axis OIS (for 7 Pro only), 8k video at 30 fps, 4k at 60fps, 4k ultra-wide, slow-motion 4K at 120 fps, 1080p at 240fps.
It comes with a 5000mAh battery with 30W fast charging, supports up to 30W QC4.0 / PD3.0 / Direct Charge adapter and comes with 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, Galileo(E1+E5a), QZSS(L1+L5), NavIC(L5), USB Type-C, NFC connectivity options. It also comes with USB Type-C Hi-Res audio, a 5-magnet stereo speaker with dual NXP TFA9874 smart amplifier, Triple microphones with ASUS Noise Reduction Technology and a side-mounted fingerprint recognition sensor. It measures 165.08×77.28×9.6mm and weighs 230g.
