As we already know, Sony is going to launch its new flagship smartphone Sony Xperia 5 II in its September 17 event before the IFA event, the device has now received the FCC certification today in the US. The FCC listing confirms that the new Sony Xperia 5 II will have the PY7-08372L model number and will have other features like Bluetooth, DTS/UNII a/b/g/n/ac/axe, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), NFC and 4G LTE.
The FCC listing, however, doesn’t mention the 5G connectivity option, but as the device is going to be powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor, it will have 5G connectivity. The FCC listing doesn’t confirm any of the other specifications of the device and there are also no images of the device in the listing.
The Sony Xperia 5 II has already been leaked by Evan Blass with leaked images of the device and recently the leakster shared a leaked promotional video of the device. According to the video, the device will be available with black and grey colour options. As for the specifications of the device, the device is expected to be available with a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED HDR Display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate.
The device will be powered by the Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 7nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 650 GPU and will carry 8GB of RAM with 128GB internal storage capacity with expandable storage up to 1TB via microSD card. It will run on the Android 10 OS out of the box and will support Hybrid Dual SIMs (nano + nano / microSD).
It is expected to have a triple rear camera with a 12-megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS sensor, f/1.7 aperture, Hybrid OIS/EIS, ZEISS optics, another 12-megapixel f/2.2 aperture 124° ultra-wide-angle lens and another 12-megapixel f/2.4 aperture telephoto lens with Hybrid OIS/EIS and 3x optical zoom. it is expected to have an 8-megapixel front-facing camera as well.
It will have a 4000mAh battery with USB-PD fast charging and will support 5G (sub-6GHz) / 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) 2 x 2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack connectivity options and will also have stereo speakers. It will have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and will be water-resistant with IP65/IP68 ratings. It will measure 158 x 68 x 8mm according to the leaks.
