Oppo has launched two new Reno series smartphones OPPO Reno5 5G and Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G in their home country China. Both the new phones come with a 90Hz refresh rate AMOLED display with a 91.7% screen-to-body ratio for the regular Reno5 5G and a 92.1% screen-to-body ratio for the Pro 5G variant. The good thing is that both the new phones have Android 11 based ColorsOS out of the box. Both come with Aurora Blue, Midnight Black and Glitter Blue colour options. The OPPO Reno5 5G is priced at 2699 yuan (around $412) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage option and 2999 yuan (around $458) for the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage option. The Reno5 Pro 5G is priced at 3399 yuan (around $519) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage variant and 3799 yuan (around $580) for the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage variant. Both the new devices are available for pre-orders in China and will be available for sale from December 18th.
OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G has a slightly bigger 6.55-inch Full HD+ 3D 90Hz AMOLED display with 2400 × 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by an octa-core (4×A77 2.6GHz + 4×A55 2.0GHz) Dimensity 1000+ 7nm processor with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. It comes with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM + 128GB storage (UFS 2.1) and 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM + 256GB (UFS 2.1) storage variant. It runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 out of the box and comes with Dual SIM support. It has a quad-rear camera with a 64-megapixel main camera with f/1.7 aperture, LED flash, an 8-megapixel 119° Ultra Wide Lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel mono portrait lens with f/2.4 aperture. It also has a 32-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.4 aperture. It comes with a 4350mAh battery with 65W Super Flash Charge (SuperVOOC 2.0) fast charging support. Connectivity options available including 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, USB Type-C and 3.5mm audio jack. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor. It measures 159.7×73.2×7.6mm and weighs 173g.
