Rogers has just confirmed that the current Samsung Galaxy flagships Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will start getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update starting 20th of March which is a good news for the users using these device on Rogers. The company has also confirmed that the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones will get security and VoLTE supports updates based on Android 7.1.1 staring April 3rd while the Huawei's newly launched Huawei Nova smartphone will get the Android 7.0 Nougat update pretty soon however, no exact date for the update was shared by the company in the official thread at Rogers forums.
The Korean company is expected to launch its new flagship devices called Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus at an event on March 29th in New York. The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have recently got the FCC approval in the US and a number of other variant of these new devices were spotted at FCC as well. The FCC documents for the Samsung Galaxy S8 confirms model numbers SM-G950U, SM-G950U1 and SM-G950W and the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus FCC documents confirmed SM-G955U, SM-G955U1 and SM-G955W model numbers. Additionally, both with also support 4G LTE, Bluetooth, ANT+, WiFi, GPS and wireless charging support as well.
The Galaxy S8 is going to feature a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ curved Super AMOLED display with pressure sensitive feature along with 2560×1440 pixels resolution. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or an octa-core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 8895 processor. It will have 4GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage capacity with MicroSD card expandable storage. It will run on the Android 7.0 (Nougat) OS and will come with Dual-SIM support that might be Hybrid. A 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera is expected to be available with LED flash and f/1.7 aperture along with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture. It will be backed up by a 3000mAh battery with fast Charging via wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging options and we will have 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS with GLONASS, USB 2.0 and NFC connectivity options. A 3.5mm headphone jack is expected and there will be a heart rate sensor, fingerprint sensor available on the rear side with Iris scanner and Barometer. The Galaxy S8 will be IP68 verified with water and dust resistance feature.

Connectivity options expected are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS with GLONASS, USB 2.0 and NFC with a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will also have heart rate sensor, fingerprint sensor, Iris scanner and Barometer. The Galaxy S8 will be IP68 verified with water and dust resistance feature.
