Samsung Galaxy S8 Active announced with Snapdragon 835, 4GB of RAM and a 4000mAh battery

Samsung has launched a new variant of the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone with the name Samsung Galaxy S8 Active that comes with shatter proof display and has military standards MIL-STD-810G. The Galaxy S8 Active is available for pre-orders and will be available for sale starting August 11 in the US via AT&T carrier priced at $28.34 for 30 months, which makes it $850 in total. It will be available with Meteor Gray and Titanium Gold color options. The device comes with a bigger 5.8-inch display with shatter shield, water and dust resistant body. It comes with a fingerprint scanner on the rear side just like the Galaxy S8 series and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active features a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with 2960 × 1440 pixels, 570ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 GPU and comes with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM with 64GB of inbuilt storage (UFS 2.1) that is expandable with microSD card. It runs on the Android Nougat OS out of the box and supports single SIM. It measures 152.14x 74.9×9.9mm and weights 207 grams.

It features a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.55″ sensor size, OIS, 1.4µm pixel size and has an 8-megpaixel auto focus front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1/3.6″ sensor size, 1.22µm pixel size and 80-degree wide-angle lens. It is backed up by a 4000mAh battery with fast charging and supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth v 5.0 (LE up to 2Mbps), GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC, MST connectivity options. It comes with a number of sensors including Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Heart Rate Sensor, Proximity Sensor, RGB Light Sensor, Iris Sensor and Pressure Sensor. It is fully water and dust resistant (IP68) and comes with MIL-STD-810G standards.

The company is all set to launch the Galaxy Note 8 smartphone on August 23 in an official event. According to the rumors, the Galaxy Note 8 will feature a 6.3 inch edge-to-edge AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and is similar to the current Samsung Galaxy SS series flagships Galaxy S8 and S8+. The Galaxy Note 8 will be powered by the Exynos 8895 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and the device will have 6GB of RAM. It will run on the Android O 8.0 OS out of the box and might feature Hybrid Dual SIMs in some regions. The Galaxy Note 8 will be the first Samsung phone to feature a dual camera on the rear side with two 12-megapixel sensors and will have independent optical image stabilization for the lens.
