Samsung announced the new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus flagships in March with infinity displays, Bixby Virtual assistant and 4GB/6GB RAM options. The Korean carrier SK Telecom has now launched a new device and the successor to the Galaxy Wide smartphone called Samsung Galaxy Wide 2 in Korea today, the device is currently not listed on Samsung's official website but is expected to be available via the website soon. The new device comes with model number SM-J727S which might be available as Galaxy J7 2017 outside Korea. The Samsung Galaxy Wide 2 is priced at 297,000 Korean won (around $265) and will be available available at discounted price of KRW 100,000 (around $90) via some carriers in the country. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage capacity that is further expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture. The device also comes with a 5-megapixel front facing camera. It is backed up by a 3300mAh battery and connectivity options includes 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth and other connectivity options as well. It measures 151.5x76.4x8.6mm and weights 170 grams. It was launched with 2GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage expandable up to 128GB with microSD card. It was running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Dual SIM support. It featured a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.1 aperture, 1080p video recording along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. it was backed up by a 3000mAh battery and connectivity options available were 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ GLONASS. It measured 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2mm and weighted 171 grams.
