HTC U Ultra launched in India and Europe, HTC U Play launched in India as well

Today HTC launched its new flagship device HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play smartphones in the Indian market where these devices are priced aggressively at INR 59,990 and INR 39,990. The company also launched the HTC U Ultra smartphone for Europe as well. In Romania, the HTC U Ultra is listed for sale from a Romanian retailer QuickMobile RON3,899.90 (around $910) for the 64GB inbuilt storage variant.

The HTC U Ultra is already available for sale in the US where it’s priced at $749 and in the UK, it’s available for pre-order priced at £614.98 SIM-free. In India, the HTC U Ultra will be available with Blue, Black, Pink, and White colour options starting March 6th and the U Play will be available in Blue, Black, Pink, and White colour options starting from mid-March.

HTC U Ultra specs

The HTC U Ultra was launched last month with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super LCD 5 display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. A 2.0-inch secondary display is also available with 160 x 1040 pixels resolution, 520 PPI, and Super LCD 5 features. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 64-bit processor (2×2.15 GHz Kryo and 2×1.6 GHz Kryo) with Adreno 530 GPU. It has 4GB of RAM with 64GB/128GB internal storage options + MicroSD card expandable storage up to 2TB. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box with HTC Sense UI on top and also supports hybrid dual SIM.

On the camera front, it features a 12-megapixel (UltraPixel 2) rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1.55um pixels, f/1.8 aperture, Laser AF, OIS, 4K video recording, and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and UltraPixel mode. A 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 feature backs up the device and connectivity options available are 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS with GLONASS, NFC, and USB 3.1 Type-C. It also comes with HTC USonic, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition, and 3D audio recording with 4 microphones. It measures 162.41 x 79.79 x 3.6-7.99 mm and weighs 161 grams.

The HTC U Play was launched with a 5.2-inch Full-HD Super LCD with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor with Mali T860 GPU. It comes with 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage option and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage capacity option with both supporting expandable storage up to 2TB with microSD card. It runs on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) OS out of the box and supports hybrid dual SIM.

A 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash comes with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and OIS and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera is also available with f/2.0 aperture, 28mm lens, and UltraPixel mode. It comes with a fingerprint sensor on the physical home button on the front. A 2500mAh battery is available with fast charging and connectivity options including 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS with GLONASS, NFC, and USB 2.0 Type-C. It also comes with HTC USonic and dual microphones with noise cancellation. It measures 145.99 x 72.9 x 3.5-7.99mm and weighs 145 grams.
