Samsung Z2 (SM-Z200M) FCC approved, Launching soon in the US

The Samsung Z2 smartphone that runs on the Tizen OS is soon going to be available in United States as its has got the FCC approval in the country that hints towards its imminent launch. If the Samsung Z2 launches in the US then it will be the first Tizen based smartphone to launch in the US. The device has got the approval in the US with model number SM-Z200M and its the same model number that got the WiFi approval last month. At WiFi certification site, the device was listed with model number SM-Z200M/DS which confirms that the dual-SIM variant of the device is also on its way to the US. The FCC documents comes with usual device tests and nothing else.

The Samsung Z2 was launched in India last year and later on, it was launched in other regions like South Africa, Nepal, Kenya and Indonesia. It was launched in India for Rs. 4590 (around $71) and was available with Black, Wine Red and Gold colour options. It comes with a 4-inch WVGA TFT display with 800 × 480 pixels resolution and is powered by the 1.5 GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage with up to 128GB microSD card expandable storage option. It runs on the Tizen OS 2.4 out of the box and supports Dual-SIMs.

The Samsung Z2 features a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It has a small 1500mAh battery available with connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. This device also comes with Samsung’s ‘Make for India’ features such as the Ultra Data Saving mode, S bike mode and the new My Money Transfer apps.

Samsung is also going to launch the Samsung Z4 smartphone that is expected to run on the Tizen 3.0 OS out of the box. The device has recently got the FCC approval and is expected to launch soon in Indian market. The Samsung Z4 official support pages were also seen listed by Indian and African Samsung websites. It was listed at FCC with model number SM-Z400F and the FCC approval documents confirmed the dual-SIM variant of the Z4 having the model number SM-Z400F/DS and 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0LE up to 2GHz, WiFi, GPS and other connectivity options. The FCC approval confirmed Lithium-ion battery with 3.85V, 7.9Wh ratings and the dimensions of the device were also confirmed with an overall (length x width) of 132 .9 mm x  69 . 2 mm.
