Honor 9 to launch on June 12 with dual rear camera and Android 7.1.1 Nougat
After so many predictions about the Huawei Honor 9 launch date on different dates recently, Honor has launched a yet another teaser on their weibo page that now says that the Honor 9 will launch on June 12 and this time its look real as the teaser comes with the big “9” number inside followed by dual rings that hints towards the launch event of the device. The Honor 9 has already received the TENAA approval last month that revealed the images and the specifications of the upcoming honor flagship. The TENAA listing of the Honor 9 confirmed another premium rear dual camera with a fingerprint scanner on the front facing physical home button. The Huawei Honor 9 was spotted at TENAA with bunch of new model number including the model numbers STF-AL00, STF-TL10 and STF-AL10 with 4GB and 6GB of RAM options. The TENAA listing shows that the new Honor 9 flagship will feature a 5.15-inch full-HD TFT display with 1920 × 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by a 2.4GHz octa-core processor that is expected to be HiSilicon Kirin 960 high-end processor. It comes with 4GB and 6GB RAM options along with 64GB and 128GB inbuilt storage options which is expandable via MicroSD card slot up to 128GB storage. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box but we may expect that the Huawei Honor 9 will be launched with Android 7.1.1 or with Android O at the time of its launch. It is expected to come with dual-SIMs support as well.
The Honor 9 will feature a dual rear camera with 12-megapixel + 2-megapixel cameras with dual tone dual LED flash while it also has an 8-megapixel front facing camera for the selfie lovers. It is backed up by a 3100mAh battery and connectivity options expected to be available are 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi and other options as well. It measures 147.3 × 70.9 × 7.45 mm and weights 155 grams. It comes with Gold color option in all the three TENAA listings. It comes with a metal frame with glass back and this time the Honor 9 will have a fingerprint scanner on the front physical home button instead of the rear mounted fingerprint scanner.
The predecessor of Honor 9 called Honor 8 was launched last year with a 5.2-inch full HD 2.5D curved glass display with 96% NTSC color gamut and 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, octa-core Kirin 950 (2.3GHz 4 x A72 + 1.8GHz 4 x A53) 16nm processor with Mali T880-MP4 GPU, 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage, 4GB RAM + 32GB / 64GB internal storage options, microSD card expandable storage up to 128GB, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) OS with EMUI 4.1, hybrid Dual SIM, a 12-megapixel dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, Laser AF, f/2.2 aperture, 6P lens and 1.4um pixel size, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture, a 3000mAh battery with fast charging, 4G LTE and it measures 145.5 x 71 x 7.45 mm and weights 153g.
