Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 announced with Snapdragon 835, 8GB RAM and a 3400mAh battery
In an official event today in China, Xiaomi launched their two new devices Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 and Xiaomi Mi Note 3. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is the high-end device and the successor to the Mi Mix smartphone launched last year with a similar display and other handy features. The new Xiaomi MI Mix 2 features a full screen display and has a front facing camera in the bottom right below the display. The device features a ceramic body and instead of a 6.4-inch display available with the predecessor Mi Mix, it comes with a relatively smaller 5.99-inch display.
The Mi Mix 2 is priced at 3299 yuan (around $506) for the basic variant having four-sided curved ceramic body and aluminium alloy frame. It comes with 6GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage, the 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage variant costs 3599 yuan (around $552) while the 6GB RAM with 256GB internal storage variant is priced at 3999 yuan (around $613). Another Mi MIX 2 Special Edition costs 4699 yuan (around $721) with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It comes with full ceramic body and is available with Black and White color options.
The Mi Mix 2 features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display with 2160 × 1080 pixels resolution, 1500:1 contrast ratio and DCI-P3 color gamut. It is powered by a 2.45GHz octa-core Snapdragon 835 64-bit 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 540 GPU. It comes with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB / 128GB / 256GB (UFS 2.1) internal storage options and 8GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB internal storage called as special edition Mi Mix 2. It runs on the Android 7.1 (Nougat) with MIUI 9 and it supports Dual SIMs. It features a 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, 1.25μm pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, 4-axis OIS, 4K video recording and has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with facial recognition and 1080p video recording.
It is backed up by a 3400mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging available and it supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, USB Type-C. It comes with a fingerprint sensor available on the rear side. It measures 151.8x 75.5 ×7.7 mm and weights 185 grams for the standard variant while the Special Edition Mi Mix 2 measures 150.5x 74.6 ×7.7 mm and weight 187 grams.
