Codename: Rocky? New HMD TA-1631, TA-1635, TA-1637 FCC approved
Update: “HMD” not Nokia. HMD Global is all set to launch a new smartphone codenamed HMD Rocky as soon as a new smartphone is spotted getting FCC approval in the US. Per the FCC listing, this latest smartphone from HMD comes with three model numbers TA-1631, TA-1635, and TA-1637 and has a triple rear camera with an LED flash. One of the tests in the FCC documents confirms that the device is code-named “Rocky’.

This new device HMD Rocky will be available with Hybrid Dual SIM support and the FCC listing confirms that the model TA-1631 will be available for AMEA for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The model TA-1635 will be launched for the EU which is Europe and the TA-1637 will be available for the LTAM region which is Latin America. On the rear side, we can see a triple camera system or dual camera with a third Tof sensor. Then we have “HMD” branding in the middle.
Another document confirms that it will have a 5000mAh Li-Polymer battery. Connectivity option listed in the documents includes 2G Network GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/1900 MHz, 3G Network WCDMA/HSDPA/HSUPA Band 2/4/5, 4G Network LTE FDD Band 2/4/5/7/12/13/17/66, Bluetooth (BR+EDR+BLE) and 2.4G WIFI 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n(HT20). It measures 163.86 x 75.51 x 8.9mm and weighs 186 grams. No other details about the device specifications are leaked through the FCC listing. We need to wait for the upcoming days when more leaks about the device will pop up.
We have already seen HMD Global launching three new devices under the HMD brand called HMD Pulse, HMD Pulse+ and HMD Pulse Pro recently. This might be the third device in the HMD series of devices with no 5G support. HMD Launched the new HMD Pulse series with entry-level specifications like a Unisoc T606 processor, up to 4GB of RAM options, 128GB inbuilt storage, 5000mAh batteries, fingerprint scanners, Android 14 OS, Hybrid Dual-SIM, Dual rear cameras, 4G LTE and NFC support.
Nokia recently launched three feature phones with 4G connectivity that includes Nokia 215 4G 2024, the Nokia 225 4G 2024, and the Nokia 235 4G 2024. All three devices have the iconic Snake game installed along with other features T9 keyboards and FM Radio. Nokia 235 4G 2024 and the Nokia 215 4G 2024 has a 2.8-inch display while the Nokia 225 4G 2024 has a 2.4-inch display. The devices will be available soon in many regions.
