Vivo Y83 announced with Helio P22 SoC, Android 8.1 and a 3260mAh battery
Chinese Vivo today announced its new mid-range smartphone Vivo Y83 in the Vivo Y series. This new device comes with a single camera but has a notch on the display. This device has a bigger display and has a bigger battery as well. The Vivo Y83 is priced at 1498 yuan (around $234) and is currently listed for sale in China via Vivo online shop. There are no details available when this will be available outside China and at what price. It comes with Aurora White, Black and Red color options and comes with face unlock feature instead of a fingerprint scanner.
The new Vivo Y83 features a 6.22-inch HD+ 19:9 IPS display with 1520×720 pixels resolution and is powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) 12nm processor with 650MHz IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage capacity that is expandable up to 256GB with microSD card slot. It runs on the funtouch OS 4.0 that is based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) OS and it comes with Hybrid Dual SIM options. It features a single 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. It is backed up by a 3260mAh battery and connectivity options it supports includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5 and GPS. It measures 155.21x 75.24 x 7.7mm and weights 150 grams.
Earlier this month, Vivo announced the Vivo X21i smartphone with a 6.28-inch Full HD+ 19:9 Super AMOLED display, octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 12nm processor (Quad 2GHz Cortex A73 + Quad 2GHz Cortex A53 CPUs) with ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, 4GB RAM, 128GB inbuilt storage, expandable storage up to 256GB with microSD card slot, Hybrid Dual SIM, Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo), a dual rear camera with a 12-megapixel camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera with f/2.4 aperture, a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, a 3245mAh battery with fast charging support, connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and AK4376A Hi-Fi audio chip and a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. It measures 154.37×74.98×6.99mm and weights 159 grams.
