Xiaomi Redmi 7A announced with Snapdragon 439 processor and a 4000mAh battery

Xiaomi, the popular Chinese smartphone brand, has launched the new Redmi series smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 7A in the entry-level segment. The Xiaomi Redmi 7A comes with a splash-resistant P2i coating body as per the company and comes with Black and Blue color options. The pricing details will be announced later with the Redmi K20 announcement on May 28th.

The device is announced for the Chinese market and is expected to expand to more Asian countries soon. It has a single camera on the rear side and a polycarbonate body. It now supports 10W (5V/2A) charging instead of the 5W (5V/1A) charging available on the Redmi 6A. Let’s explore the other specifications of the device next.

The Xiaomi Redmi 7A features a 5.45-inch 18:9 2.5D curved glass display with 1440 x 720 pixels resolution and is powered by an octa-core (Quad 1.95GHz Cortex A53 + Quad 1.45GHz Cortex A53) Snapdragon 439 Mobile Platform with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 2GB of RAM + 16GB inbuilt storage variant and another having 3GB of RAM + 32GB of inbuilt storage capacity with both supporting expandable storage up to 256GB with microSD card support. It runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 10 out of the box and also comes with Dual SIMs (nano + nano / microSD) support.

It has a singular 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF and we also have a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is powered by a 4000mAh battery with 10W (5V/2A) charging. It comes with connectivity options such as Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and supports wireless FM Radio support. It comes with a splash splash-resistant feature with P2i nano-coating. It measures 146.30×70.41×9.55mm and weighs 150 grams.

It is powered by a 2GHz Quad-Core MediaTek Helio A22 12nm processor. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage capacity that is expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card slot. It runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI 9 and comes with Hybrid Dual SIM support.

It features a single 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, PDAF, and f/2.2 aperture, and has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. It is backed up by a 3000mAh battery and supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack connectivity options, and supports dual microphones as well. It measures 147.5×71.5×8.3mm and weighs 145 grams.
