ZTE Axon 8 (ZTE A2018) gets TENAA approval with 4GB RAM and a 3320mAh battery

ZTE is soon going to launch a new device in China and that might be the next flagship ZTE Axon device called ZTE Axon 8 which will be the successor to the last year’s ZTE Axon 7. A new device from ZTE has just been spotted listed at TENAA with images and specifications with model number ZTE A2018.

It is said to be the ZTE Axon 8 or ZTE might launch it with the ZTE Axon 7S name in the near future. The device comes with a Quad-core processor which might be the Snapdragon 820 or Snapdragon 821 which hints this device will be the Axon 7s and we might see the launch of the Axon 8 later this year. Let’s now check out the specifications of the device listed at TENAA.

The ZTE A2018 is listed at TENAA with a 5.5-inch QHD OLED display with 2560 × 1440 pixels resolution and is powered by the 2.15GHz quad-core processor expected to be the Snapdragon 820 or 821. The device comes with 4GB of RAM and has multiple inbuilt storage options including 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options. It also comes with 256GB of expandable MicroSD card storage. It also runs on the outdated Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box as most of the flagship devices run on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS these days. It is also expected to support dual SIMs.

It comes with a dual rear camera with a 20-megapixel and a 12-megapixel sensor with LED flash, HD recording and 1.2x optical zoom whereas, it comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. It is backed up by a 3320mAh battery and comes with connectivity options like 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, USB Type-C and others. It measures 151.7 x 75 x 7.7 mm and weighs 170 grams. It comes with the Grey colour option and also comes with some sensors like a Gravity sensor, distance sensor, and light sensor. A fingerprint scanner is also available on the rear side of the device.

To recall, the Axon 7 was launched with a 5.5-inch AMOLED 2.5D curved glass 2k display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 2 options: 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage. The phone has expandable storage of up to 128GB with a microSD card and other features include an Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MiFavor UI 4.0, Dual SIM.

This phone has a single 20-megapixel rear camera with dual LED Flash, 4K video recording, PDAF, OIS, F/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 3250mAh battery and connectivity options includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. It also features AK4961+AK4490 dedicated audio chips and stereo speakers. It measures 151.7×75×7.9 mm and weighs 185 grams.

No details are available on when the company will launch the ZTE A2018 and we have to wait if the company will launch it with Axon 8 name or Axon 7s. Stay tuned.
