Xiaomi to launch Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro and Redmi 6A in India on September 5

Chinese Xiaomi has now started teasing new smartphone launches for the Indian market on September 5th. The teaser released by the company comes with the number "6" that hints towards the launch of the Redmi 6 series in India. The Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A were announced on June 12 whereas, the Redmi 6 Pro was released in China on June 25th. The Xiaomi Redmi 6 was priced at 799 yuan, which becomes around $116 or Rs. 8,265, the Redmi 6A was launched priced at 599 yuan (around $87 or Rs. 6,200) while the bigger Redmi 6 Pro was launched with a price tag of 999 yuan (around $146 or Rs. 10,330). We hope that Xiaomi will launch these devices with the similar rates as in China.

To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro was launched with a 5.84-inch Full HD+ 19:9 2.5D curved glass display with 500 nits brightness, 1500:1 contrast ratio, 84% NTSC Color Gamut, and 2280×1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 506 GPU and comes with 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, 4GB RAM with 32GB/64GB storage and all supports expandable storage up to 256GB with microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI 10 out of the box and supports Dual SIMs. It features a dual rear camera with a 12-megapixel camera with LED Flash, Sony IMX486 sensor, 1.25um. pixel size, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and a secondary 5-megapixel camera with Samsung S5K5E8 sensor, 1.12um pixel size, f/2.2 aperture. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera as well. It has a 4000mAh battery and supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS connectivity options. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side and also has an infrared sensor. It measures 149.33×71.68×8.75mm and weights 178 grams.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 features a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display, 1000:1 contrast ratio and 1440 × 720 pixels resolution and is powered by a 2GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) 12nm processor with 650MHz IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It has two variants, one with 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and the second one with 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and both supports expandable storage with up to 256GB with microSD card slot.
