Motorola launches Moto Edge X30 and Edge S30 smartphones
Chinese smartphone maker Motorola has launched two new smartphones in the new X series and S series respectively with the names Moto Edge X30 and Moto S30. Both of the new phones come with a 5000mAh battery with the Edge X30 being powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and the Moto Edge S30 being powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC. The Moto Edge X30 is priced at 3199 yuan (around $501) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage variant, 3399 yuan (around $533) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant and 3599 yuan (around $564) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.
The phone is currently available for sale in China from today with a 200 yuan discount. Another Moto Edge X30 Special Edition is priced at 3,999 yuan (around $627) and features an under-screen camera of 60 megapixels. The Moto Edge S30 is priced at 1999 yuan (around $313) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, 2199 yuan (around $344) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option, 2399 yuan (around $376) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option and 2599 yuan (around $407) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option.
The Moto Edge X30 comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED 144Hz display, HDR10+, 10-bit colour, DCI-P3 colour space, up to 700 nits brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and 2400×1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4nm Mobile Platform with Adreno next-gen GPU. It comes with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
It runs on Android 12 with MYUI 3.0 and supports dual SIMs (nano + nano). It has a triple rear camera with a main 50-megapixel camera with f/1.88 aperture, OV50A40 sensor, OIS, and another 50-megapixel 114° ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture, S5KJN1SQ03 sensor, 2.5cm macro option, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture and OV02B1B sensor.
It has a 60-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture, OV60A40 sensor, and support for 4K video recording as well. This device has a 5000mAh battery with support of 68W TurboPower fast charging and connectivity options available are 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax (2.4GHz/5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC, USB Type-C Audio and Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support as well. This device comes with a splash-resistant IP52 coating. It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, measures 163.56×75.95×8.49mm, and weighs 194 grams.
The Moto Edge S30, on the other hand, features a slightly bigger 6.8-inch FHD+ LCD 144Hz display with HDR10+ and 2400×1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 888 Plus 5nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 660 GPU and comes with 6GB / 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage variant and another variant with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It runs on the Android 11 OS out of the box and also supports dual SIMs (nano + nano). It carries a triple rear camera with a primary 108-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture, Ultra pixel technology, a 13-megapixel 120° ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture, 2.5cm macro option, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
It also has a 16-megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture and Quad pixel technology. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well and connectivity options available are 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax (2.4GHz/5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC, USB Type-C Audio, and Audio-Technica tuning. It is also a splash-resistant smartphone that comes with IP52 ratings. It has a 5000mAh battery with 33W TurboPower fast charging support, It measures 168.07×75.53×8.89mm and weighs 202 grams.
