Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime (2018) gets FCC approval

Coming soon: Galaxy J5 Prime (2018). Samsung is currently working on the 2018 variants of their popular phones in the Galaxy J and Galaxy A series as we saw Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 and Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) getting the FCC approvals in the USA. Now, another variant from the Galaxy J series called Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime (2018) has received FCC approval today that will be the successor to the Galaxy J5 Prime smartphone.

The FCC approval doesn’t have any images of the device listed but it comes with some of the specifications of the device. The FCC listing indicates that the dual-SIM variant of the device is also in the making that will have the model number SM-G571F/DS and will be available in some Asian markets with its official launch.

The FCC approval documents for the Galaxy J5 Prime (2018) say that the Galaxy J5 Prime will have connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, WiFi, GPS and other options and it will carry a non-removable battery. No other details about the device are currently available in the FCC documents. The Galaxy J5 Prime (2018) has recently been spotted listed by the GFXBench benchmark database confirming most of its key specifications.

It was spotted listed with SM-G571 model number and has a 4.8-inch HD display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It is powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz Exynos 7570 processor that comes with an ARM Mali-T720 GPU. It has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage capacity. It runs on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box and will have dual SIM support. It features a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera as well.

To recall, the Galaxy J5 Prime was announced last year with a 5-inch HD display with 720×1280 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage capacity that is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot. It runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow OS out of the box and supports dual-SIM options. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. It is backed up by a 2,400 non-removable battery and connectivity options including 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and FM Radio.
