Xiaomi announces Xiaomi Mi 11 with Snapdragon 888, Triple rear cameras with 108MP sensor

China’s Xiaomi has announced the new flagship smartphone and the world’s first Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone Xiaomi Mi 11 in an event in China finally. The new Mi 11 smartphone comes with an AMOLED curved display with a punch-hole front camera and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by the powerful, newly launched, Snapdragon 888 processor, a 4,600 mAh battery with 55W wired flash charging support. The company has also announced that the new Mi 11 smartphone will not be shipped with the inside-the-box charger.

The Mi 11 with 8GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage costs 3999 yuan (around $611), the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is priced at 4299 yuan (around $657) and the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant will be available at the price of 4699 yuan (around $718) in the home country from 1st January 2021, that means from today. It will be available with Midnight Gray, Horizon Blue, and Frost White colours options that will have an Anti-glare frosted glass back and another version with Lilac Purple and Honey Beige colours having a Vegan leather finish.

Let’s now have a look at the specifications of this new device. It has a 6.81-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED 20:9 HDR10 + display with 120Hz refresh rate, 1500nit (HBM) / 900nit (Typ) brightness, and 5000000:1 (Min) contrast ratio, MEMC, 100% DCI-P3 Wide Color Gamut, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and 3200×1440 pixels resolution. It is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 888 5nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 660 GPU and comes with multiple variants including 8GB LPPDDR5 RAM (3200MHz) + 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage variants and 12GB LPPDDR5 RAM (3200MHz) + 256GB UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage variants. It runs on the MIUI 12 OS based on Android 11 OS out of the box and supports dual SIMs (nano + nano).

It has a triple rear camera system with a 108-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.33″ Samsung sensor, 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.85 aperture, OIS, LED flash, a 13-megapixel 123° ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 5-megapixel tele-macro camera with f/2.4 aperture, 8k recording at 30fps, 4k 60fps and 960fps at 720p. It also has a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with 0.8μm pixel size and f/2.4 aperture. The Mi 11 has an in-screen fingerprint sensor with heart rate monitoring and an infrared sensor.

It has a 4600mAh battery with 55W wired QC4+ / QC3+ / PD3.0, 50W wireless fast charging, 10w wireless reverse charging, and comes with connectivity options like 5G SA/NSA Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E 802.11ax 8 x / MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS (L1 + L5), NFC, USB Type-C and other options like USB Type-C audio, Hi-Res audio, Dual speakers and Sound BY Harman Kardon. It measures 164.3x 74.6 x 8.06mm for the glass variant and 8.56mm for the leather variant. It weighs 196 grams for the glass variant and 194 grams for the leather variant.
