Google Pixel 4a announced with Snapdragon 730G, 6GB RAM priced at $349

A new Google smartphone in the Pixel series has been launched by the search giant with the name Google Pixel 4a. It has a single camera on the rear side and has a Full HD+ OLED display. It is powered by the Snapdragon 730G Mobile Platform with 6GB of RAM and comes with a Titan M Security chip. This phone has a 12.2-megapixel rear camera capable of taking high-quality pictures with features like f/1.7 aperture, LED flash, Dual PD autofocus, OIS, EIS and 4H recording.

The Pixel 4a is priced at $349 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage variant and is already available for pre-order in the US. It will go on sale from August 20th in the US with the Just Black colour option. The company has also announced its plans to launch Pixel 4a 5G priced at $499 and Pixel 5 in the fall in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan and Australia.

The device comes with HDR+ with dual exposure controls, Portrait Mode, Top Shot, Night Sight with astrophotography capabilities and fused video stabilization. It has a recorder which connects with Google Docs to seamlessly save and share transcriptions and recordings (English only), a Personal Safety app for real-time emergency notifications and car crash detection, a Live Caption feature which provides real-time captioning (English only) for your video and audio content and will now automatically caption your voice and video calls.

Pixel 4a specs

The Pixel 4a features a 5.81-inch FHD+ OLED 18.5:9 display, 443 PPI, HDR support, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and is powered by an Octa-Core (2.2GHz Dual + 1.8GHz Hexa) Snapdragon 730G Mobile Platform with Adreno 618 GPU and comes with Titan M security chip. It features a polycarbonate body with a matte finish. It comes with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB of (UFS 2.1) internal storage with no expandable storage slot. It runs on the Android 10 OS out of the box and will be upgradable to Android 11 when it will be available next month.

It has a 12.2-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, LED flash, Dual PD autofocus, OIS, EIS, 4K video recording at 30fps, 1080p at up to 120fps and 720p at up to 240fps. It also has an 8-megapixel front camera with an 84° ultra-wide lens and f/2.0 aperture. The device comes with Dual SIM (Single Nano-SIM + eSIM) support and has a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. It has a 3140mAh battery with 18W fast charging and comes with the support of connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2x2MIMO (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.1 LE, GPS, USB Type-C Gen 1, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack and has stereo speakers + 2 microphones. It measures 144x 69.4 x 8.2mm weight 143g.
