Meizu launches Meizu PRO 7 and PRO 7 Plus with dual display, dual rear cameras and 6GB RAM

Chinese Meizu has finally launched its new flagships in the Meizu Pro series with the names Meizu Pro 7 and Meizu Pro 7 Plus in an official event in China. Both the new devices feature a dual display with a 1.9-inch secondary display on the rear side of the device making it a unique flagship of this year.

Meizu PRO 7 and Pro 7 Plus price and specs

The Meizu PRO 7 is priced at 2880 yuan (around $426) for the Helio P25 processor + 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage capacity variant while the Helio X30 processor version having 4GB of RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage is priced at 3380 yuan (around $500). The high-end Meizu PRO 7 Plus with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is priced at 3580 yuan (around $530) while the 128GB inbuilt storage variant is priced at 4080 yuan (around $604). Both of these devices will be available for sale in China starting August 5. Both the devices come with Black, Silver, Gold and Red colour options.

The Meizu Pro 7 features a metal unibody design and comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 10000:1 contrast ratio, 103% NTSC Color Gamut and 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution we also have a secondary 1.9-inch 307 PPI Super AMOLED display on the rear panel with 1000:1 contrast ratio and 240×536 pixels resolution.

It is powered by a 2.5GHz Octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor with Mali-T880 GPU / 2.6GHz Deca-Core MediaTek Helio X30 10nm processor with Power VR 7XTP-MP4 GPU. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of (eMMC5.1) internal storage with 128GB (UFS2.1) internal storage. It runs on the Flyme OS 6 based on Android 7.0 (Nougat) and comes with Dual SIM support.

It features a dual rear camera with 12-megapixel dual cameras (monochrome + RGB) with dual-tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, 1.25um pixel size, Sony IMX386 sensors, PDAF and we have a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture as well. It is backed up by a 3000mAh battery with mCharge fast charging that can charge the device up to 70% in 30 minutes with a 25W charger.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C and it also comes with Cirrus Logic CS43130 Smart PA amplifier features as well. A fingerprint sensor is available on the front physical home button. The device measures 147.62 x 70.72 x 7.3mm and weighs 163 grams.

The bigger Meizu Pro 7 Plus also has a metal unibody design and features a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, 10000:1 contrast ratio, 103% NTSC Color Gamut and 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution and we also have a 1.9-inch 307 PPI secondary Super AMOLED display with 1000:1 contrast ratio and 240×536 pixels resolution.

It is also powered by the 2.6GHz Deca-Core MediaTek Helio X30 10nm processor with PowerVR 7XTP-MP4 GPU and comes with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB/128GB (UFS2.1) internal storage options. It runs on the Flyme OS 6 based on Android 7.0 (Nougat) and supports Dual SIMs.
