Honor 9 announced with dual rear camera, 6GB RAM and 3200mAh battery
After teasing the new flagship on weibo, Huawei’s Honor has launched the new Honor 9 flagship in China today. The flagship got the TENAA approval few days back as well in China confirming the device specifications and images confirmed the design of the device. The Honor 9 is priced at 2299 yuan (around $338) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage variant, the 6GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage variant is priced at 2699 yuan (around $397) while the 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage variant is priced at 2999 yuan (around $441). It will be available with Blue, Amber Gold, Gray and Black color options and is now available for pre-order in China via vMall starting today however, the sale of device will start June 16th. The global availability details and pricing details are currently unknown.
The Honor 9 features a 5.15-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by the in-house octa-core Huawei Kirin 960 (4 x 2.4 GHz A73+ 4 x 1.8 GHz A53) processor that also comes with i6 co-processor and Mali G71 octa-core GPU. It comes with 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage and 6GB RAM + 64GB / 128GB inbuilt storage options with all supporting MicroSD card expandable storage up to 256GB storage. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS with EMUI 5.1 on top and support Hybird Dual SIMs with (nano SIM + nano SIM / microSD).
The Honor 9 features a dual rear camera with a 20-megapixel (Monochrome) + 12-megapixel (RGB) cameras with dual-tone LED flash, Laser AF, PDAF, CAF, f/2.2 aperture and 4K video recording. It also comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed up by a 3200mAh battery with fast charging enabled and has a fingerprint sensor on the front facing physical home button. Connectivity options available are 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS/Glonass, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. It measures 147.3 × 70.9 × 7.45mm and weights 155 grams.
To recall, the Honor 8 was launched last year with a 5.2-inch full HD 2.5D curved glass display with 96% NTSC color gamut and 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, octa-core Kirin 950 (2.3GHz 4 x A72 + 1.8GHz 4 x A53) 16nm processor with Mali T880-MP4 GPU, 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage, 4GB RAM + 32GB / 64GB internal storage options, microSD card expandable storage up to 128GB, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) OS with EMUI 4.1, hybrid Dual SIM, a 12-megapixel dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, Laser AF, f/2.2 aperture, 6P lens and 1.4um pixel size, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture, a 3000mAh battery with fast charging, 4G LTE and it measures 145.5 x 71 x 7.45 mm and weights 153g.
