Samsung launches Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones

South Korean giant, Samsung, has launched the new 2022 series of flagship Galaxy S series devices namely Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in an official event a few days back. The Galaxy S22 series of phones comes with exciting features and flagship hardware inside. The Galaxy S22 and S22+ feature a triple-rear camera while the flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a 5-camera system on the rear side including a ToF 3D sensor and an S-Pen.

New Galaxy S22 Series Prices

The Samsung Galaxy S22 with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at $799.99 and the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant costs $849.99, whereas, the Samsung Galaxy S22+ with 8GB RAM+ 128GB storage is priced at $999.99 and the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage costs $1049.99. The Galaxy S22 Ultra with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at $1,199, 12GB RAM + 256GB storage costs $1299.99, 12GB RAM + 512GB storage costs $1399.99 and 12GB RAM + 1TB storage costs $1599.99. The Galaxy S22 and S22+ are already available for pre-order, the first two will start shipping from March 11 while the Ultra is already shipping to their owners.

Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus Specs

The Samsung Galaxy S22 features a 6.1-inch FHD+ Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display, 10-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate in Game Mode, up to 1300 nits brightness, Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection while the Galaxy S22+ features a 6.6-inch FHD+ Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display, 10-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate in Game Mode, up to 1750 nits brightness, Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.

Both devices are powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4nm Mobile Platform or an octa-core Samsung Exynos 2200 processor. It has 8GB of RAM with 128GB/256GB inbuilt storage options and runs on Android 12 with One UI 4.1 on top of the box. Both support Dual SIM (nano + nano) slots.

Both of these smartphones come with a triple rear camera with a 50-megapixel main camera with LED Flash,  1/1.57″ 1um ISOCELL GN5 sensor, f/1/8 aperture, OIS, a 12-megapixel 120° Ultra Wide sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and a 10-megapixel Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, 3x optical zoom, OIS, 4K 60 fps, 8K 30fps. There is a 10-megapixel front camera available with an f/2.2 aperture. The Galaxy S22 has a 3700mAh battery while the S22+ has a 4500mAh battery with both phones supporting battery features like 15W Qi wireless charging, Wireless PowerShare, and 25W fast charging support the Galaxy S22 and 45W fast charging support S22+.

Both phones are Dust and Water-resistant with IP68 ratings. Connectivity options available are 5G SA/NSA, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 (Wi-Fi 6E in S22+) 802.11ax (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, UWB (S22+ only), GPS + GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC and MST. The Galaxy S22 measures 146×70.6×7.6mm and weighs 168 grams and the Galaxy S22+ measures 157.4×75.8×7.6mm and weighs 196 grams.

It also has the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4nm Mobile Platform or octa-core Samsung Exynos 2200 processor with 8GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB/512GB/1TB inbuilt storage variants. It runs on Android 12 with One UI 4.1 and carries a bigger 5000mAh battery with 45W fast charging and 15W Qi wireless charging.
